The Choice

The forest was veiled in darkness and its depths held only silence. The sound of a cricket could not even be heard echoing off of the bark of the many great oaks and pines. The only sign of movement could be found in a small area of the forest where the vegetation became thinner.
A fire's glow danced across the branches seductively, as if to lure any weary wanderer. It casted perhaps the only sound of a dull crackling amongst the bushes. In front of the fire, Kyla sat, lost in thought as the flames warmed her hands and cheeks. Kyla was a natural loner. She was always an outcast or an outsider.

Wow...
You know...life is a funny thing.
I really liked Will...and I still do.
But, now...there's someone else I like too.
I never really saw it coming.
Now there's this guy...Joe.
And...he likes me...and I'm finding that I like him too.
He came over a few nights ago...and it was a beautiful time...
The way he spoke to me...it memorized me.
I feel confused a little I suppose...like my heart is torn.
But you know, I'm not going to wait for Will to like me like I like him. If I can find someone to love me...the way that I want to be loved...I'm going to take it...
And...it happens that that might be Joe.
Hmmm...so confused. :confusion:
